Re Trump clinches the US presidency (Nov. 6): Elon Musk will be the top oligarch, at least to begin with. Vladimir Putin will provide the template. We will soon know other sector head oligarchs. Their role under Donald Trump will be to take over the economy while enriching themselves and their leader. Oligarch commands will be the new rule of law, as defined by their leaders trust in them. I believe incompetence and chaos will prevail in Trumps governance as his oligarchs redistribute the nations wealth and power.

Foreign policy will be determined through transactional whim by Trump.

A Trump revenge initiative will not last beyond the first several months, but complaints by media and notables will lead to punishment directed at them.

The court system will be ignored. A Republican Congress will rubber-stamp the administration or do very little.

This is what the American people voted for whether they are aware of it or not.

Trump won for the coalition of working Americans of all stripes and colors for the main reason that Democrats forgot: Its the economy, stupid. Now California Gov. Gavin Newsom will continue to prepare a wall to stop those Trumpian policies designed to help those deplorable working-class Americans. As presumptive 2028 Democrat candidate for president, he might want to remember its the economy, stupid and help California now with decent jobs, lower regulations, less government involvement and some common sense.
