Re We need to be more inquisitive, more skeptical. Don’t believe everything online. (Oct. 29): I agree with much of what Brad White is saying. The public is largely uninformed, and the media often presents very biased views that can’t be trusted. Part of the solution is for the public to listen to reasoned debates with both sides participating. If a discussion has a panel in which everyone agrees with each other, then I would suggest you change the channel. Often I feel I’m listening to an echo chamber that never presents opposing views. Also, representatives from each side should truly represent that side — not someone who once represented the one side and has now flipped to supporting the opposing party. If we could hear good debates and reasoned arguments, it would help the public make better informed choices.
