Restore SD Plastic Surgery says it focuses on enhancing patients confidence through customized treatments in facial and body rejuvenation. The all-female staff at its La Jolla-area office brings a compassionate and unique perspective, according to Dr. Janet Chao, a facial plastic surgeon and one of Restore SDs two principal doctors.

The La Jolla Light asked Chao the following questions to find out more.

Q. How and when did Restore SD begin?

A. Restore SD Plastic Surgery was founded by board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Katerina Gallus, who launched the practice in 2018 after a career serving in the Navy to provide a welcoming, all-female environment dedicated to aesthetic excellence. Restore SD has quickly become a trusted name in aesthetic care, known for combining innovative surgical techniques with a comprehensive range of non-surgical services.

Q. How would you describe its mission?

A. Our mission is to empower each patient with knowledge and confidence by prioritizing education, safety and lifelong wellness. We create a personalized experience that places patient safety and comfort above all. Our team is committed to supporting health and aesthetic goals that endure by using the latest technology and evidence-based practices. Our approach ensures that patients feel respected, informed and supported on their journey toward lasting wellness and aesthetic goals.

Q. What makes it unique compared with similar businesses?

A. Restore SD Plastic Surgery distinguishes itself as one of the few all-female practices in the field of plastic surgery. This unique structure creates a supportive, patient-centered environment where expertise and compassion converge. The practice also offers an in-house operating suite and a full range of aesthetic services, making it a one-stop destination for comprehensive cosmetic care.

Q. What’s new with Restore SD that you want everyone to know about?

A. Restore SD has recently expanded its offerings in facial plastic surgery with the addition of Dr. Chao, who specializes in deep-plane facelifts, rhinoplasty and non-surgical facial rejuvenation. Dr. Chao brings fellowship training and specialized expertise in head and neck surgery, further enhancing the range of options available to patients. The practice has also expanded its skin-care services, providing a more comprehensive experience for patients, from consultation through post-treatment care.

Q. What are the personal and professional benefits of doing business in the La Jolla area?

A. La Jolla is known for its vibrant community that values wellness, quality of life and aesthetics. Practicing in this area allows Restore SD to connect with patients who genuinely prioritize their health and appearance.

Professionally, the practice benefits from La Jolla’s reputation as a destination for high-quality aesthetic care. Personally, Dr. Gallus and Dr. Chao find inspiration in La Jolla’s coastal charm and the community’s appreciation for excellence in aesthetic treatment.
