American Legion San Dieguito Post 416 will observe Veterans Day 2024 with a celebration service at 11 a.m. on Nov. 11 at 210 W. F Street, Encinitas. Included will be proclamations from Mayor Kranz, Taps played by Commander (USN) (Ret.) Ken Carstens, and Leanne Etheridge singing The National Anthem and a song written as a tribute for her veteran father.

Vietnam veteran and Purple Heart recipient James Burke will be a guest speaker, along with veteran Doug Freeland. Captain Royce Williams, Navy Cross recipient and Congressional Medal of Honor candidate will be the guest of honor.

Local Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts will assist the Post in the Observance which will last approximately one hour.

The Observance will take place on the public street in front of Post 416 at 210 W. F Street, Encinitas.

Live music by The Honey Badgers will follow the program and food and beverages will be available. The public is cordially invited.
