Make-A-Wish San Diego recently announced that its 2024 WINE & WISHES Gala raised a record-breaking $1,250,000 (and counting) in a single night. The proceeds from this event will enable the organization to grant more than 125 wishes for children with critical illnesses in San Diego and Imperial Counties, according to a news release.
The star-themed event was held Oct. 12 at the Park Hyatt Aviara in Carlsbad and was attended by more than 350 individual and corporate supporters. Make-A-Wish San Diego Board Chair Lisa Paul-Hill, and Event Chairs Dai and Eric Logan worked together to lead the charge for this year’s gala, which focused on shining a light on the many stars who make wishes possible. Wish Kids were the stars of the program and helped showcase the impact of a wish. Event co-emcees included Monica Dean, TV news anchor and producer with NBC 7 San Diego, and Wish Kid Pavla, whose wish to be an actress was recently granted, the news release stated.
“A wish can be a game-changer for a child dealing with illness and by joining us at our WINE & WISHES Gala, guests were part of the magic that makes wishes come true,” said Suzanne Husby, president & CEO of Make-A-Wish San Diego, in the news release. “We are so grateful for the generosity of our attendees and sponsors, and that they too believe in the power of our mission — Together, we create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.”
Next year’s WINE & WISHES Gala will be held Oct. 11, 2025 at Park Hyatt Aviara. Visit www.wish.org/sandiego-2 for more information on Make-A-Wish San Diego.
