Author Elizabeth St.John discusses new novel, Nov. 7
This autumn, the Library Guild of Rancho Santa Fe welcomes local author Elizabeth St.John to the library to discuss her new novel The King’s Intelligencer.” This special event is on Thursday, Nov. 7, at 10:30 a.m. A $30 registration fee includes seating, a copy of the book, and light refreshments. Great Decisions—Nov. 5
At 10:15 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 5, come to the library for a discussion about “High Seas Treaties.” The content comes from the Great Decisions Briefing Book, a publication of the Foreign Policy Association. You can pick up a copy at the library to read in advance of the meeting.
Book Club—Nov. 8
Join your friends and neighbors for a lively discussion of a different book each month. For November, the book is Know My Name by Chanel Martel. The meeting is at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 8, and you can check out the book from the library or download a copy from the Libby application.
Reed Weaving Workshop—Nov. 8
Make a bracelet in a reed weaving workshop! You will choose colors for accents, using dyed reed combined with natural rattan. Each participant can create a unique pattern or use a standard pattern. As well as a bracelet, you will make a woven reindeer for the holiday season. Space is limited for this workshop, on Friday, Nov. 8, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., so make sure to call the library at 858-756-2512 to reserve your spot.
Coffee & Conversation: The Kumeyaay of San Diego, Our First People —Nov. 21
Fred Grand, a proud member of the Kumeyaay Indigenous Nation of San Diego, is the author of Spilled Blood and Bloodlines, which brings Southern California’s colorful past to life with stories spanning four periods: the First People, the Spanish Period, the Mexican Period, and theAmerican Period and Native Sovereignty. American Flag Drop Off
If it’s time to retire your American flag, please drop it off at the library. There is a drop box and your flag will be treated with respect.
Battery Drop Off at Library
The Rancho Santa Fe Library is a safe place to dispose of small batteries, including A, AA, AAA, C, lithium (with taped covered ends), cell phone and other small batteries. Do your part to stop pollution by bringing this toxic trash to the library. The drop-off program is in partnership with Universal Waste.
Seeds and Sustainability
The Rancho Santa Fe Library is a seed library too! Come by to pick up two free seed varieties that you can take home and plant.
