(4) Mission Hills (8-2) vs. (1) Lincoln (8-2) at Southwestern College
Preview: Mission Hills is led by quarterback Troy Huhn, a Penn State commit, running back Giovanni Harte and dangerous kicker Logan Boyack. Mission Hills has outscored its opponents 290-179 and has won two in a row. The Grizzlies losses are to Granite Hills (28-17) and La Costa Canyon (28-27). The team is ranked No. 49 in California by MaxPreps.com Lincoln is ranked No. 11 in the state, No. 90 in the nation and is led by QB Akili Smith Jr., an Oregon commit, RB Aden Jackson and WR Courtney Miller-Johnson. The Hornets losses are to Arbor View (45-44), a team ranked No. 2 in Nevada, and San Juan Capistrano JSerra (28-19), ranked No. 44 in California. The Western League champion Hornets have outscored their opponents 417-161 and have won six in a row. Mission Hills and Lincoln last played in 2021, with Lincoln winning 30-13. Preview: Ranked No. 28 in the state by MaxPreps, Cathedral Catholic is led by QB Brady Palmer, RB Jake Funderburk and WR Hunter Harrington, a Stanford baseball commit. The Dons losses are to San Francisco St. Ignatius (8-2), ranked No. 42 in the state , and Lincoln (27-7). Cathedral Catholic has outscored its opponents 370-115 and has won two in a row. La Costa Canyon, the Avocado League champion, is ranked No. 20 in the state. The Mavericks last loss was to St. Augustine (32-17) in last seasons Division 1 playoffs. LCC is led by QB Quinn Roth, do-everything back Coby Herman and WR Jackson Maggiore. The Mavericks have outscored their opponents 351-106. The Dons and Mavericks last played in 2019 with Cathedral Catholic winning 42-9.

Preview: Del Norte, ranked No. 120 in the state, beat Oceanside 42-35 last week. The team is led by QB Diesel Taylor. San Marcos, led by QB Kreet Makihele, is ranked No. 57 in the state. The Knights only loss is to crosstown rival Mission Hills (17-14). Palomar League opponents, San Marcos beat Del Norte 27-21 two weeks ago.

Preview: Mount Miguel, ranked No. 84 in the state, beat Santa Fe Christian (62-34) last week. The Matadors losses are to Los Angeles Loyola (46-38) and Granite Hills (45-30). El Camino is ranked No. 115 in the state. The Wildcats have lost two in a row, falling to Mission Hills (21-11) and Carlsbad (28-7).

(6) Torrey Pines (5-6) at (3) Granite Hills (8-2)
Preview: Torrey Pines, ranked No. 110 in the state, beat Scripps Ranch (26-15) last week Granite Hills, champion of the Grossmont Hills League, is ranked No. 67 in the state. The Eagles scored a San Diego Section-record 90 points in their last game, eating Grossmont 90-46.
Prediction: Granite Hills 31, Torrey Pines 21
(7) Rancho Bernardo (9-2) at (2) Carlsbad (7-3)
Preview: Rancho Bernardo, ranked No. 109 in the state, beat Brawley (28-27) last week. Carlsbad is ranked No. 56 in California. The three losses are to Lakewood, Mission Hills and La Costa Canyon by a total of 20 points.

Preview: City League champion Christian has won seven in a row after beating Imperial 28-24 last week. .. University Citys only loss is 31-13 to Scripps Ranch.

Preview: Point Loma has been outscored 244-184 this season, but beat Valley Center (28-7) last week to advance. Poway has been outscored 257-217 and has lost six in a row. The Titans last win was Sept. 13 over Ramona.
Prediction: Point Loma 21, Poway 17
(6) La Jolla (7-4) at (3) Helix (4-6)
Preview: After losing two in a row, La Jolla beat Madison (27-15) to advance. Helix was 1-4 in its last five games before beating Steele Canyon (62-20) in the regular-season finale. The Highlanders have been outscored 315-273.
Prediction: Helix 24, La Jolla 21
(7) Bishops (7-3) at (2) Mater Dei Catholic (7-3)
Preview: High-scoring Bishops averages 37.6 points a game and put up 49 points in last weeks win over Mt. Carmel. Mater Dei Catholic was 0-3 to start the season, but rallied to win seven in a row and claim the Metro Mesa League championship.
Prediction: Mater Dei Catholic 35, Bishops 34

Preview: Patrick Henry, which averages 37.0 points a game, beat Otay Ranch 41-24 last week to advance. Central Union lost 54-0 in its last game.

Preview: Eastlake has won four in a row, including 21-7 over Army-Navy last week. San Pasqual started the season 1-5, but has won its last four.

Preview: Escondidos seven wins are the schools most since an 8-3-1 season in 2009. The Cougars beat Steele Canyon 57-53 last week to advance. San Diego has allowed just 137 points with 21 of those coming in a regular-season win over Patrick Henry.

Preview: St. Augustine had been outscored 308-86 before beating La Jolla Country Day last week to advance. That win snapped an 11-game losing streak. Holtville, the Desert League champion, has won 11 in a row and outscored its opponents 490-60 this season.

Preview: Montgomery, the Mesa South Bay League champion, has won six in a row, including a 33-6 victory over Calexico last week. Ramona had lost seven in a row and was averaging 18.8 points a game before beating Fallbrook 35-14 in the last regular-season game.

Preview: Westview has scored just 133 points and had lost three in a row before beating Vincent Memorial 23-12 last week. Mission Bay had lost three in a row and seven of eight before beating Mira Mesa 30-28 in the regular-season finale.

Preview: Mira Mesa snapped an 11-game losing streak with a 41-21 win over Sweetwater last week. Grossmont has lost three in a row, including 90-46 to Granite Hills in the regular-season finale. But Grossmont can score, averaging 38.8 points a game.

Preview: Chula Vista beat Classical Academy 55-16 last week to snap a five-game losing streak and advance. El Capitan, the Grossmont Valley League champion, has won six in a row.
