At least one person was killed in a crash on state Route 52 near Clairemont on Monday, California Highway Patrol officers said.

A reporting party told officers around 2:25 p.m. that a man was “passed out” in front of his white truck on the right side of the highway near Regents Road, CHP online traffic logs show.

CHP Officer Mark Latulippe said investigators were treating the incident as a pedestrian fatality.

It was not immediately clear what led to the man’s death.

Multiple on-ramps in the area were closed while officers investigated the scene, the log said.

No other information was immediately available.
