The horrible wars in Ukraine and the Middle East are in the news every day. I know there are many truly charitable organizations sending help and support to the people affected. What I dont understand is why there is not a way for the U.S. Attorney Generals Office to have its staff investigate the many televised ads from unknown charities showing starving children and elderly citizens and asking for monthly donations. The ads have no contact address or name of the director of the charity, just a 800 number to call. When you look online for the charity named in the ad to get more information, there is none to be found.

I feel that all these so-called charities asking viewers for help are taking away from the well-known charities like Salvation Army, etc. The government officials in charge of humanitarian aid need to put a stop to the scammers who show up after a disaster occurs.
