With three home runs, 18 RBIs and an .841 OPS over 18 games in the Arizona Fall League, there’s a good chance that 18-year-old catcher Ethan Salas will represent the Padres in Saturday’s Fall Stars Game.
He might not be the only Padres teenager in the showcase.
Shortstop Leodalis De Vries, the youngest player in the Arizona Fall League after turning 18 on Oct. 11, is among three National League prospects up for a fan vote for inclusion on the roster.
You can vote here through 2 p.m. Thursday.
The top international signee from the 2024 class, De Vries is No. 2 in the Padres’ system behind Salas, as ranked by MLB.com, and No. 28 in the top-100.
De Vries is hitting .212/.306/.327 with one home run and eight RBIs in 14 games with Peoria. He is the youngest player to homer in the Arizona Fall League since an 18-year-old Bryce Harper did so in 2010.
The other NL prospects up for the fan vote are Diamondbacks outfielder Kristian Robinson and Reds outfielder Tyler Callihan, neither of whom are ranked in the respective systems by MLB.com.
The 23-year-old Robinson is hitting .322/.403/.441 with one homer, eight RBIs and nine steals in 16 games with Salt River.
Callihan, also 23, is hitting .258/.343/.339 with six RRBIs and five steals.
The 18th annual Fall Stars Game will be played 5 p.m. Saturday at Mesa’s Sloan Park.
