The La Jolla-based National Cheers Foundation held its Step Into the Spotlight gala at The Lot La Jolla on Oct. 18.

The gala helps the foundation raise funds to support medical research and health institutions, health advocacy groups, and outreach, resource and educational programs that benefit women.

The event included a reception, an auction, dinner and live entertainment.
