La Jolla Playhouses Innovation Night provided its annual opportunity for members of San Diegos arts and sciences communities to get together for a mutual celebration at the playhouse.

This years event Oct. 21 honored La Jolla-based Scripps Research, which is marking its 100th anniversary of biomedical studies.

There also was an Innovation Night gallery featuring interactive exhibits from area companies, as well as a performance by Sway, which has been featured in the playhouses Without Walls Festival.

Funds raised from the event through sponsorships and donations support the playhouse’s programs.
