Staff members at Canyon Crest Academy were treated to a delightful Diwali celebration on Nov. 4 honoring the “Festival of Lights.” This meaningful cultural event, widely celebrated by Indian communities around the world, symbolizes the victory of light over darkness and good over evil. Diwali traditions often include decorating homes with diyas (small oil lamps or battery-powered lights in California), vibrant flowers, and colorful lights to invite prosperity and joy. Fireworks and sparklers are also typically enjoyed, bringing families and friends together in a radiant display of unity and celebration, according to a news release.
To express their gratitude, CCA students hosted a special breakfast for the staff, offering scented candles and flowers as tokens of appreciation. This gesture served as a small way to thank the staff for their hard work, dedication, and the daily impact they have on students’ lives.
The students would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to CCA Principal Brett Killeen and the entire CCA staff for their invaluable support in making the Diwali event possible, the news release stated. The celebration was a joyful way to bring light and appreciation to CCA, echoing the spirit of Diwali in both tradition and gratitude.
